The Johann-Joseph-Fux-Conservatory of the Province of Styria in Graz is at the same time the Styrian center for the promotion of talented musicians and in the role of a public music school of the city of Graz. The offer ranges from early musical education, to instrumental lessons in secondary school up to the study program, which is carried out together with the University of music and performing arts Graz. 2400 pupils and 150 students are taught by 135 teachers. Since the international development of the achievements of students in competitions and entrance exams at art universities constantly moved towards even higher quality also the students of the Johann-Joseph-Fux-Conservatory achieve this international level through exchange projects and competitions. Since 2016 there have been strong relationships with different countries, especially with Slovenian schools or institutions in Maribor, Celje, Velenje, Koper and Ljubljana.
In recent years, close contacts have been established, which have manifested themselves in joint concerts and seminars. There is already great experience and routine procedures in the planning of joint seminars. The organization of the activities, which are always in the hands of Director Lanner in cooperation with the Department Heads of the Johann-Joseph-Fux-Conservatory, is to be continued in this way. In case of a personnel change in the position of director, the organization of the Erasmus project would be carried out by the person succeeding the director or by Susanne Janes, Head of Studies at the Conservatory. Other key persons are: Hildegard Frühwirth and Nicole Gruß-Ganglbauer (piano), Nasrin Rossmann and Shirin Albler (vocals), Thomas Platzgummer (orchestra), Franz Herzog (choir), Dario Luisi and Tanja Vogrin (early music), Birgit Böhm, Reinhard Uhl (woodwinds), Zuzana Ronck (children’s choir) and Isabel Lena de Terry (scientific and organizational employee who will be responsible for the creation of CD, brochure and website).
